Porsche Club of America Northeast Region Autocross Series
Here is one club that has it's act together. If you own a Porsche, or your an associate member of this club, you'll really enjoy the autocrosses these folks put on.

SCCA - Sports Car Club of America
This will link you to the National Headquarters of the SCCA. They are the largest amateur motor sports organization in the country. They conduct National SOLO II events, SOLO I events, Road Racing, Rallying, and Off-Road Racing all over the country at the regional and national level. Great way to go racing.
COM does time trials at tracks like NHIS and Mosport. The next step up from autocrossing. Great novice program with excellent instruction.
EMRA - Eastern Motor Racing Association
EMRA is a wheel to wheel racing club in New England. This might be considered the next step up from time trials.
Owning a BMW is NOT required to belong to this active club. They run driving schools at various race tracks and autocross events and they are open to everyone.
CCSCC - Cape Cod Sports Car Club Class Record Holders at Otis AFB
Here is a list of the fastest times ever recorded (listed by class), by the Cape Cod Sports Car Club at the Otis AFB site. These records go back as far as the 1950's.

One of two clubs that run autocrosses at Otis AFB in Falmouth, MA. Their 1998 schedule is there plus directions to Otis, pictures from previous autocross events, and more.
Home of the Skip Barber Driving School. Great site with lots of interesting motor sports events going on all season long. Memorial Day weekend see the WSC cars from the Rolex 24hr plus TransAm cars and more. One of the best racing events in New England. Many car clubs also host time trials here.
See what your car will do in the 1/4 mile. Wednesday night is street night. For $15 you get to run your car down the 1/4 strip. Beat the tree and your buddies. Racing begins April 1st. Lots more including Super Chevy Weekend!
